Frequently Asked Questions
- Can you turn in your pink slip whenever you want? NO, you need to turn it in no more than one week after you volunteer. We WILL put it in the trash if it not on time.
- Do we wear our shirts every single meeting? Yes.
- When is our next meeting? It is the first Thursday of every month. You can figure that out yourselves:).
- Do hours transfer to the next semester? Yes.
- Can I throw away my agenda after the meeting? No!
- How many service hours for this semester do you need? Six each semester. 12 total. Six of these 12 hours need to be provided by NJHS.
- What happens if I don’t turn in my grade report? The first time you don’t turn in your grade report you won’t go to Splashtown. The second time you are out of NJHS.
- Where can we find grade report sheets and pink volunteering slips? Outside of Mrs. Sampson's room, inside of Mrs. Pina's room, NJHS bulliten board.
- What happens if I get ISS or OSS? YOU ARE OUT OF NJHS!
- What happens if you lose your agenda? You can print from our website or you can save it as a document. Hurry if you lose it because it will only be on the website until the next meeting.
- What happens if I forget to pick up a pink slip or grade report sheet, and the school is closed? You can print it out from the website. You can ask one of your friends to see if they have an extra. You can also ask one of the officers. You can do it on a piece of notebook paper, but make sure you have everything that is on a pink slip if you decide to do it. Tip: Take a couple of sheets home!
- Why aren’t the officers answering my questions? Because most of your questions are on the AGDENDA or RIGHT HERE.
- Why can’t I volunteer with my church group and have it count for NJHS? We want our members to leave their comfort zone, and volunteer where you usually wouldn’t. Also we want the members to be self-motivated to where they volunteer. We don’t want you to depend on your group.
- What qualifies as NJHS pre-approved? If it's on the website, your email, or your agenda, it's NJHS pre-approved.
- Can I volunteer for something that is not pre-approved? Yes. Just make sure that it gets approved by Mrs. Sampson or Mrs. Desai.
